8.0, and the sea's own spectrum
The target reached; the lattice traced to a 6.4 metre period in one texture
Phase 07 found the direct-load bug by diffing renderer state rather than guessing: a shadow matrix built before the first draw. It put a generated weathered-lime wash on every lime surface and reached 8.0 on every axis for the first time, and it failed one gate. A regular crosshatch lay across the open sea in every 500 metre orbit frame.
Three phases had rearranged how the water texture was sampled and traded a beat for a flat sheet for a crosshatch. The judgment measured the tile itself instead: the 512 pixel water normal carried 17 percent of its slope power at a 6.4 metre period. No number of scaled samples can hide a period the tile carries. The fix was to change what was sampled.
Phase 08 high-passed the tile so it carries nothing above 2 metres, removed the far gain, rebaked the Island's coverage as three octaves with a domain warp so the bare ground has sizes from a few metres to eighty, re-placed 960 tufts to fringe it, and desaturated the palm crowns in the loader. Every number matched the report to the digit, for the fifth phase running, including statistics the coordinator recomputed with code written independently.
Score held at 8.0 with every gate passing. One new deduction, named with its mechanism: the replacement slope term was a value-noise derivative, and that derivative is zero on every grid line. Generation spend: nothing for phase 08, two jobs for phase 07.
